Main Content Area

Lecture 22
  • Today we are going to discuss few moew problems.

Problem 1: A sphere of mass M and radius R is rolling without slipping down a triangular block of mass m that is free to move on a frictionless horizontal surface. (a) Fund the Lagrangian for this system (b) By applying Euler-Lagrangian equations, simplify the equations of motion for this system. Problem2: A particle of mass m is constrained to move on the inside surface of a smooth cone of half angle alpha. The particle is subject to a gravitational force. Determine a set of generalized coordinates and set up the Euler Lagrangian Equations . Problem 3: RETURN TO TOP
